Today's worship service in Olongapo left me a satisfied, contented and joyful heart. Ang dami ko natutunan sa worship kanina.. Kuya Joey, our Church Leader, had a sermon about The Joy of Life..

He shared this awesome Scripture in Ecclesiastes 11:

 1 Ship your grain across the sea;

   after many days you may receive a return.

2 Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight;

   you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.

 3 If clouds are full of water,

   they pour rain on the earth.

Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north,

   in the place where it falls, there it will lie.

4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant;

   whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.

 5 As you do not know the path of the wind,

   or how the body is formed[a] in a mother’s womb,

so you cannot understand the work of God,

   the Maker of all things.

 6 Sow your seed in the morning,

   and at evening let your hands not be idle,

for you do not know which will succeed,

   whether this or that,

   or whether both will do equally well.

Remember Your Creator While Young

 7 Light is sweet,

   and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.

8 However many years anyone may live,

   let them enjoy them all.

But let them remember the days of darkness,

   for there will be many.

   Everything to come is meaningless.

 9 You who are young, be happy while you are young,

   and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.

Follow the ways of your heart

   and whatever your eyes see,

but know that for all these things

   God will bring you into judgment.

10 So then, banish anxiety from your heart

   and cast off the troubles of your body,

   for youth and vigor are meaningless.

Afer the worship service I had an awesome group lunch date with my brothers and sisters in Christ; Astina, Ronnie, Luz, Mark, Mace..

In the afternoon pumunta ang church sa Bataan. First time ko umatend ng Funeral Worship Service, para namatay na Christian, sa Samal Bataan.. Kakaiba ang experience.. I have grasped a whole new meaning of the song Amazing Grace. Knowing that the person died faithful to God gave me a secured feeling that he will experience a transition from a mortal life into eternity..

Naalala ko din bigla yung sermon ni Joey Bonifacio (VCF Pastor) entitled Love Unconditionally.. Sabi nya, "When all is said and done; when you're life is about to end. When you're fighting for dear breath and you've got nothing more to give. And you're sitting on that death bed; nothing really matters.. Money doesn't matter. Where you live doesn't matter. The accumulation of degrees that you have doesn't matter. The toys that you've accumulated doesn't matter. The only thing that will really matter are your relationships."

Kuya Joey Sampang (Church Leader of Metro Olongapo City Christian Church) shared an awesome scripture in his sermon for the said funeral..

Here it is:

Psalm 90 (NIV)

Lord, you have been our dwelling place

   throughout all generations.

2 Before the mountains were born

   or you brought forth the whole world,

   from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

 3 You turn people back to dust,

   saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”

4 A thousand years in your sight

   are like a day that has just gone by,

   or like a watch in the night.

5 Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—

   they are like the new grass of the morning:

6 In the morning it springs up new,

   but by evening it is dry and withered.

 7 We are consumed by your anger

   and terrified by your indignation.

8 You have set our iniquities before you,

   our secret sins in the light of your presence.

9 All our days pass away under your wrath;

   we finish our years with a moan.

10 Our days may come to seventy years,

   or eighty, if our strength endures;

yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,

   for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

11 If only we knew the power of your anger!

   Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.

12 Teach us to number our days,

   that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

 13 Relent, LORD! How long will it be?

   Have compassion on your servants.

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,

   that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,

   for as many years as we have seen trouble.

16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,

   your splendor to their children.

 17 May the favor[a] of the Lord our God rest on us;

   establish the work of our hands for us—

   yes, establish the work of our hands.
